Overview
How can alternative economic thinking, and indeed thinking from quite different social scientific disciplines, enhance the mainstream economic approach to environmental and natural resource problems? Tutor Dr Jane Corbett will introduce you to how our economic system works, and factors driving climate change. The session will involve reviewing current economic policy approaches to climate change, and promote constructive thinking about what types of actions are necessary.
This course is to be delivered by Jane Corbett, and held from 10am-5pm on the 27 April 2013 at Rewley House, Wellington Square, Oxford.

Course aims
- To increase understanding of how our economic systems work and factors driving climate change;
- To review current economic policy approaches to climate change and policy options: from the global to the local;
- To encourage creative and constructive thinking about the economics of climate change and what kinds of action is needed;
- To facilitate the exchange of relevant experience, ideas and approaches within the group of students.

Level and demands
The short course syllabus emphasises study and research skills of immediate application in the field, and in the workplace. There is no minimum requirement for previous academic achievement or educational qualifications, but some prior knowledge and/or experience is desirable.Apply for this course
