Below are a selection of courses that we are running, based on the subject of the course you were looking for:

  • Poetry in context: ground-breaking volumes of poetry
This course will look at four ground-breaking volumes of poetry in order to enhance our understanding of the individual poems in them, and to appreciate the importance of knowing about the wider literary contexts in which they were written.
  • Irish Literature 1940 to the present
A survey of Irish literature and its contexts from 1940 to the present, focusing on poets, dramatists, and novelists, and considering the impact of language debates, cultural movements and political events.
  • Modernism
A course on significant masterpieces of Modernism. Works by T.S.Eliot, James Joyce, Ford Madox Ford and Wallace Stevens are compared with works by 'not-exactly-modernists' such as D.H.Lawrence, Kipling and Thomas Mann.
  • Shakespeare: English History Plays 1st Tetralogy
In this course we shall study the tetralogy consisting of Richard II, Henry IV Parts One and Two, and Henry V.
  • Contemporary British Fiction (Online)
If you have ever been daunted by terms such as ‘modernism’, ‘magic realism’ or ‘postmodern’ and if you would like to develop your ideas into coherent, backed-up analytical arguments and have technical terms demystified – this is the course for you.
