- Ancient Greek Literature
We shall read Plato's Republic Book I and Aeschylus's tragedy The Persians. - Latin 1
This course is intended for beginners but is also suitable for people wishing to refresh their Latin. Using the first 2 sections of Jones and Sidwell's textbook Reading Latin, we will meet all major noun and adjective groups and several tenses of verbs. - Latin 2
This is a course for learners who have some basic Latin and is suitable for those who have completed Latin 1. We will use sections 3 and 4 of Jones and Sidwell's 'Reading Latin'. - Ancient Greek 1
Ancient Greek is the language of Homer, Sophocles, Plato, the New Testament and many other texts. In this class students with no prior knowledge of Greek will start learning ancient Greek in order to read some of these famous texts and authors later. - Latin 3
This course equips you with the skills necessary to tackle unadapted classical texts. Using Jones and Sidwell's 'Reading Latin', it covers the last grammar topics through extracts from authors of the Late Republic.
