    The course considers Winston Churchill’s political life. His role in rejuvenating Liberalism and reshaping Conservatism, as well his personal fight against totalitarianism, make his political thought of enduring interest.
  • The First World War in Perspective (Online)
    This course seeks to explain why and how the First World war was fought, and to understand why its legacy remains relevant almost a century after it began
  • Politics: an introduction (Online)
    In addition to tracing the evolution of the modern state and political ideas and ideologies, the course focuses on issues that confront people from all parts of the World on a day-to-day basis.
  • Foundation Certificate in History
    The two-year part-time Foundation Certificate in History is equivalent to the first year of a three year degree course in History. Students who complete it can apply for second-year entry to the undergraduate degree course at the University of Oxford.
  • The Making of Modern Britain (Online)
    This course will examine the key social, economic and political influences which have shaped Britain in the 21stc both as a nation state and as an international power
