Below are a selection of courses that we are running, based on the subject of the course you were looking for:

  • Idiosyncratic English Originals: English Painting from Wright to Roberts
We shall examine the nature of English painting from 1760-1940 from the standpoint of the idiosyncratically original quintessentially English vision and imagination. We shall highlight, among others, Wright of Derby, Blake and Stanley Spencer.
  • Undergraduate Certificate of Higher Education
Students can use credit obtained from weekly classes, short online courses, linked day schools, practical weekends and attendance at the Oxford University Summer School for Adults to count towards gaining an award from the University of Oxford.
  • Undergraduate Diploma in History of Art
The Diploma in the History of Art is equivalent to one year of a full-time undergraduate degree at second year level. Students take two one-year modules, each consisting of 30 two-hour sessions, three Saturday workshops and one study weekend.
  • Learning to Look at Modern Art (Online)
Many people feel that Modern Art, from 1900 to the present day, is more difficult to understand than art of the past. By looking at a wide range of works, this course will help you to better understand Modern Art and its connection to art of the past.
  • Learning to Look at the Visual Arts (Online)
Have you ever looked at a picture in a gallery and been able to see and feel its characteristics but not had the vocabulary to put your thoughts into words? This course offers you the opportunity to learn how to study and analyse paintings and drawings.
