OverviewWhat justifies an ethical code? Is death the end of a human being? How do I know that you aren’t imaginary? The kind of questions that philosophers ask cannot be answered simply by observing events in the physical world. But like scientists, philosophers are also inspired to find the truth and so, rejecting opinion and the rhetorical arts, they work on these intriguing questions by means of structured and rigorous argument. This course will introduce you to the inspiration for philosophical questioning and the methods by which it is practiced.
