Below are a selection of courses that we are running, based on the subject of the course you were looking for:
- Applied Ethics
The course will be dealing with many of the pressing ethical issues that concern us in the modern world. Should there be human enhancement? Are there just wars? Should euthanasia be legal and other important questions. - Philosophy of Art
Art plays a large role in the lives of most people. But what is art? Why do we appreciate it? Is it because we enjoy it, because we learn from it or due to its beauty? Are there objective standards for what constitutes good art? And how is art created? - Critical Reasoning
Nobody likes to be fooled, and we all would like, just occasionally, to have a knock-down argument for our beliefs! We will look at what makes (or breaks) an argument, and some of the many roles reasoning plays in our lives. - Am I Free?
This course examines the issue of determinism and the extent to which the will can be said to be free. The subject is considered from moral, religious, epistemological and scientific perspectives, and looks at the implications for these disciplines. - The Philosophy of Cosmology
Observational cosmology is in a golden age of discovery, but a deeper understanding of what is meant by a science of cosmology is in its infancy. It must involve physics, philosophy, and cosmogony - a philosophy of cosmology.
