Below are a selection of courses that we are running, based on the subject of the course you were looking for:
- Musical Analysis - Romantic to Modern
Studying one work each week, a wide range of music will be analysed - concentrating on works from the Romantic and Modern periods. Different works may require slightly different approaches but common principles of analysis will be developed.
- The Pianists` Workshop III
A practical class open to players of all levels. Piano technique, repertoire and interpretation will be explored in the context of workshops in which all students will have regular opportunities to play. Students may join this class in any term.
- Further Music Theory
This is a practical course for those interested in gaining knowledge and understanding of classical harmony.
- Romanticism in Music
The Romantic period gave rise to turbulent emotional music, including many of the best loved works in the repertoire. This course will chart the progress of the Romantic impulse through 19th century music.
- Opera in Repertory
Each week we will study an opera that is currently in repertory, tracing the opera's evolution from its (usually) literary origins through to its production on stage.
