Summer schools > Oxford international summer schools
Our International Summer Schools are intensive programmes taught at graduate level. Students attend daily lectures, followed by small group seminars. Participants in these programmes usually have a university degree, or a minimum of two years at university. These summer programmes are not accredited, but those seeking credit at their home institution will receive a `Detailed Certificate` which details contact hours (for plenary sessions and workshops), grades achieved and private study hours.
- Creative Writing Summer School
Offering specialist seminars including critical reading, fiction, life writing, poetry, teaching creative writing and young adult fiction. This course is ideal for anyone wishing to explore and enhance their ability as a writer.
- English Language Teachers' Summer Seminar
Oxford is the home of Oxford University, Oxford University Press and many ELT authors. Using these resources, this two-week course will focus on current developments in the English language and in English language teaching.
- English Literature Summer School
Examining literary movements and the work of significant literary figures from Chaucer to the present day. Seminar topics include Chaucer, Shakespeare, the English Romantic poets, Jane Austen, Victorian fiction, and contemporary writing.
- History, Politics & Society Summer School
Providing insight into issues and events that have influenced the contemporary world. Seminar topics include British politics and society, the contemporary Middle East; the European Union, globalisation, human rights, international development, post-communist Europe, and warfare in the modern world.
GSP: Oxford Seminar in Global Leadership
A programme designed soley for students currently studying at one of the member universities of the International Alliance of Research Universities (IARU)
