Library mission statement
The Library's mission is to provide a library and information service to staff and students (mostly part-time) of the Department for Continuing Education, comprising a diverse range of ages, nationalities and academic needs. We aim to support the wide variety of subjects covered by Departmental courses at many academic levels, ranging from weekly classes through to post-graduate studies and thereby to build up collections of correspondingly high quality in many subject areas. The Library will also maintain and develop its collection of material relating to the history and theory of adult education.
The Library
The Rewley House Continuing Education Library is situated in Rewley House, Wellington Square, on the same level as the main entrance. We have a collection of around 73,000 books together with periodicals and a video/DVD collection of films and drama documentaries. Computer terminals in the Library give access to the internet and the full range of electronic resources subscribed to by the University of Oxford
The Jessop Reading Room adjoining the Library is available for study whenever the department is open. It is equipped with power points for laptops and is also on the Department's wireless network.
The Library staff are always ready to help with any queries you may have about the Library and its resources
