Google Scholar - using this rather than plain Google will ensure more
'scholarly' results. Full text or excerpts may sometimes be available, and you can set preferences to check whether it is available in Oxford
Intute - Intute was a project set up by Universities to provide access to good quality resouces.
Funding for the project is stopping in July 2011, but the site may be of interest for a while longer, although links will not be checked and no new items will be added
Open University Library resource list - a multi-disciplinary listing of free resources compiled by the
Open University library. many of these are also included in our specific subject guides
OAIster - searches open archive collections worldwide
Project Gutenberg - the orginal e-book project. Over 33,000 titles available
for free download in a variety of formats.
Public Libraries - Public Libraries offer remote access to key electronic reference works
to their members. You generally log in using your library card number. The link here takes you to a listing of UK public library authorities
