Emotional Intelligence for Resilience, Flexibility and Growth

Overview

Emotional Intelligence is a key skill which has been associated with increased business success in Sales, Leadership, Finance, Health and other sectors. The source of this success has its roots in increased wellbeing, confidence and interpersonal skills. This course unlocks the key skills involved,  and demonstrates why these techniques are so successful. Some of the key topics covered include:

  • Emotional Intelligence: what is it and why does it work?
  • How do you feel? Emotion, and Emotion in business
  • What does it mean to be Resilient?
  • What does it take to be Flexible?
  • Personal growth and how this leads to success
  • Wellbeing, and why this is good for business

Students will learn about themselves as a byproduct of this course, and should expect some challenges along the way! This course takes an in-depth look at what Emotional Intelligence means, and how small changes to our own attitudes and behaviours can pay dividends. Students can take the first steps along the journey to sustainable personal development for both their own wellbeing and in business. Techniques for making Positive change are presented. Material is presented in a relaxed atmosphere, with time for reflection and discussion.

This course is open to everyone, with examples for the business community.

FRIDAY 8 NOVEMBER 2019

From 9.30am - 5.00pm

(You might want to bring in coffee with you in the morning, as there is none provided until the break times).

Breaks at 11.00am & 3.30pm for coffee/tea  

Lunch at 1.00pm

A baguette lunch is provided for those who book it in advance, but please feel free to bring your own or there are plenty of eateries nearby.

 

Certification

A certificate of attendance will be provided for each course participant at the end of the day.

Funding

If you are in receipt of a state benefit you may be eligible for a reduction of 50% of tuition fees.

If you do not qualify for the concessionary fee but are experiencing financial hardship, you may still be eligible for financial assistance.

Dr Jane Pollock

Course Tutor

Jane is a Chartered Psychologist, an Independent Consultant in Organisational Psychology, and a tutor and lecturer in Psychology and Statistics. She has a history of highly successful courses in both Psychology and Business streams, and takes a practical approach to a subject crucial to the success of people in Organisations.

Dr Alistair Ross

Director of Studies

Alistair Ross is a BACP senior accredited counsellor and supervisor and was Chair of BACP’s Professional, Ethics and Quality Standards Committee.  He is an accredited Baptist minister, on the editorial board of Practical Theology and an international board member of the Society for the Exploration of Psychoanalytic Therapies and Theology (SEPTT).  He is Dean and Fellow of Kellogg College, Oxford and an associate member of the theology faculty in Oxford.

Teaching methods
