'Get Blogging' is a practical, hands-on course that shows you how to start and write a successful blog to improve your profile, credibility or website ranking on search engines be you an academic, business, or just blogging for fun.
The course begins with a short overview of the benefits of blogging, and quickly get you started on your own blog, using Wordpress.
During the day you will also learn how to expand your blog's content with links, photos and video content and; how to improve its design and features with widgets.
Training is provided by means of classroom teaching and practical exercises carried out under guidance.
The only prerequisites for this course are enthusiasm, a working knowledge of computers and a readiness to learn new software.
Our computers are PC's and not Apple Macintosh.
Delegates without an existing wordpress blog also need to be able to access their email accounts to register a new blog. Please come with all the information you need to log-in to or create your blog (website, password details).

Robert Bullard is an Oxford based writer, editor and trainer in writing skills (perfecttext.org). He has been helping businesses and individuals with their writing since 2003, drawing on his previous experience as a feature writer for national broadsheet newspapers and websites, including the Guardian and The Daily Telegraph. He gives several training courses for the Department of Continuing Education.

Dr Cezar Ionescu is Associate Professor of Data Science with the Oxford University Department for Continuing Education. His main interests include functional programming, correctness of scientific computing and machine learning algorithms, and the role of computing science in education.
