We ask that children under the age of 12 be accompanied by an adult.
All open day events are free, and offered by Oxford Continuing Education Lecturers and tutors, and staff of the Banbury Museum. There is no admissions charge for the Museum or its galleries. Museum opening hours on the day are 10-5. The Museum's 'Cafe Red' serves an excellent bistro-style menu, and overlooks the Oxford Canal and historic Tooley's boat yard.
In the Museum's galleries
The exhibition gallery will feature The Royal Photographic Society’s International Images For Science, and there will be a member of the RPS on hand to offer gallery tours during the open day.
The permanent collection is rich in Civil War history, local manufacturing and transport.
For the kids
The Museum's usual Saturday 'Crafty Corner' offering for children will take place between 10.30 – 12.30 and 14.00 – 16.00. (For this event there is a cost of £2 per child to cover materials.)
There will also be an archaeology 'touching' table available between 10.30am and 2.30pm, where visitors of all ages can handle artefacts discovered on archaeological digs.
