Josef Parnas

Josef Parnas is Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Copenhagen, Medical Director and co-founder of the Psychiatric Center Glostrup/Hvidovre, and a co-founder and Senior Researcher at the Danish National Research Foundation: Center for Subjectivity Research. He has previously been a Member of the Danish Medical-Forensic Council and a Member of the Board for the Neuroscience Research Center at the University of Copenhagen. Some of his recent publications include: “Selfhood and its disorders” (with Henriksen, M.) in The Oxford Handbook of Phenomenological Psychopathology. (Oxford, 2018); "Diagnostic epidemics and diagnostic disarray: The issue of differential diagnosis." in Philosophical Issues in Psychiatry IV: Classifications of Psychiatric Illness (Oxford, 2017); and, “Mysticism and schizophrenia: A phenomenological exploration of the structure of consciousness in the schizophrenia spectrum disorders” (with Henriksen M) in Consciousness and Cognition, 2016.
