Senior Lecturer in Immunology, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine
Dr Fletcher obtained a BSc (hons) in Medical Microbiology in 1994 and a PhD in Microbiology in 1999, both from the University of Leeds. Dr Fletcher developed an interest in TB while working as a Postdoctoral Immunologist at the Centre for Infectious Diseases, University College London.
Dr Fletcher joined the Jenner Institute in 2002 and from 2002-2013 worked on projects to discover biomarkers of protection from TB disease, develop clinical trials capacity in Africa and worked with Professor Helen McShane to develop MVA85A, a viral vectored vaccine for TB.
In 2013 Dr Fletcher joined the Department of Immunology and Infection at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine to develop her own research programme on the host-response to TB.
