Weekly Courses in Biblical Hebrew and Modern Hebrew

We offer weekly courses in Biblical Hebrew and Modern Hebrew, helping you to develop your understanding of the Hebrew language whether past or present, along with the culture of Israel and of other Hebrew speaking comunities throughout history.

All Hebrew courses are held in the late afternoon time at Ewert House, the Department's home in Summertown, North Oxford. For full details, see each individual course below.

Biblical Hebrew is available between levels 1-2, at beginner and post-beginner level, while there is one beginner's class for Modern Hebrew.

All our classes have been developed in keeping with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
