Introducing Oxford Lifelong Learning

A new name, a renewed purpose, an Oxford education

We are excited to share the news with you that from 25 June 2025 we will offer our courses under our new brand called Oxford Lifelong Learning.

This new identity marks an important milestone during our nearly 150-year history as a provider of part-time adult learning. It supports our ambition to extend the reach and impact for those who wish to experience the quality of an Oxford University education.

Why are we changing our name?

Oxford Lifelong Learning expresses our core mission: to make the exceptional teaching and resources of Oxford University accessible to people everywhere, throughout their lives.

Whether you hope to pursue a qualification, gain new skills, or simply explore a subject you love, you are part of a community that believes in the transformative power of education at any age or stage.

What do these changes mean for you?

  • Oxford Lifelong Learning courses will continue to be delivered by the Oxford University Department for Continuing Education, but the new name better reflects who we are, what we offer, and the kind of future we are building for you and our many students globally.

  • Your academic awards, transcripts and student support will still be administered by the Oxford University Department for Continuing Education, but you may also notice the new Oxford Lifelong Learning name.

  • You will start to see Oxford Lifelong Learning on our website, social media and in other communications.

Rest assured that our teaching, academic rigour, and supportive student experience will continue as always.

Now is a great time to study with us as we develop the next chapter of our story and embrace lifelong learning at Oxford University.
