STUDENTSplus

STUDENTSplus is the official mature student group at Oxford.

The group exists to represent mature students' interests at the University, and to help build connection between mature students through social gatherings and other events each term.

According to the Oxford University website, a mature student is anyone who is 21 or older at the commencement of undergraduate-level study. This definition embraces the vast majority of the Department for Continuing Education's students, who range in age from 18 - 97!

Henry Proctor, last year's chair of STUDENTSplus, said, 'Last year we organised evening drinks, a tea ceremony to coincide with Chinese New Year and a holiday party with exceptionally bad jumpers. We also inaugurated and now co-organise the yearly mature student orientation, the first of its kind at Oxford.'

All mature students are invited to sign-up to the group's mailing-list to keep informed about events. To do so, send a blank email (nothing in the subject line or in the body of the message) to: mature-students-subscribe@maillist.ox.ac.uk

Further information about the group can be found on the Oxford University Student Union website, at: ousu.org/get-involved/campaigns/maturestudents/
