Vice-Chancellor's Civic Award

Abi Sriharan, student on our DPhil in Evidence Based Health Care programme, has won a prestigious Vice-Chancellor's Civic Award.

The Vice-Chancellor's Civic Awards are granted every year to students who show exceptional achievement in and commitment to creating positive social change. The Awards celebrate and recognise the efforts made by students to have a positive impact in their local and global community.

Abi's work, Championing Peace Through Health Initiatives, brings Palestinian, Israeli, Jordanian and Canadian medical students and health professionals together to build trust, understanding and cooperation between Arabs and Israelis in conflict regions.

Earlier this year Abi presented a session called 'Ethical Dilemmas of Global Health Research' as part of our Rewley House Research Seminar Series Ethics last May. Listen to the podcast here: podcasts.ox.ac.uk/people/abi-sriharan
