Religion can be thought of as a human endeavour to create a dialogue with the sacred that stretches back into the ancient past. What can archaeology tell us about religious and ritual practices from prehistory to the Roman period around the world?
This introductory course introduces the Classical World through an exploration of the archaeology of the cities, villages, temples and daily lives of two ancient Mediterranean societies: the Greeks and the Romans.
