Director of the programme in Conservation of the Historic Environment, Reading University.
Henry Russell is a member of the Church of England’s Buildings Council and Chair of Gloucester Diocesan Advisory Committee.
The course provides a firm foundation of the history of church architecture and furnishings, and provides the skills to draft statements of significance. This will enable participants to analyse and evaluate proposals for change.
This course aims to give participants an understanding of traditional construction and its defects and to provide the skills to carry out balanced and informed surveys of historic buildings.
