Meade McCloughan has been studying philosophy for over 30 years and has taught at University College London and Birkbeck College London. He is on the organising group of the Marx and Philosophy Society.

Apologist for the Prussian state? Proto-totalitarian? Or liberal? This course will cut through the misconceptions and present Hegel's political philosophy in its full complexity and subtlety, by means of a close reading of his Philosophy of Right (1821).
Kant is the greatest thinker of both the Enlightenment and the modern age. This short course will examine what he called his "Copernican revolution" in philosophy, taking in metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, religion, politics and anthropology.
Marxism was a significant political force in the twentieth century; it also thrived intellectually, with many thinkers drawn to Marxist theory but also keen to take it in new directions. This course will examine some of the key strands in this tradition.
