Networks and Cyber Security: An Introduction

Overview

This cyber security beginner-friendly event is for anyone seeking to gain the essential skills to secure their computer network and protect sensitive data from cyber-attacks.

The day is designed to equip you with the fundamental concepts, tools and techniques required to secure computer networks and data from cyber threats. You will be introduced to cyber security protocols, network security models and cyber security threats.

Through hands-on exercises and real-world case studies, you will develop an understanding of the cyber security landscape, structure, features, and models of computer networks, as well as IPv4 and IPv6 networks, Virtual Private Networks (VPN), LAN technologies, network services.

Dr Indra Bandara

Indra Bandara is a lecturer in computing at Buckinghamshire New University where he is Course Leader at the Slough campus. He is a Cisco Certified Network professional with more than 20 years of work and research experience.
