This course is designed to give you practical advice on starting a successful business.

The tutors are expert consultants from Oxentia, Oxford’s Global Innovation Management Consultancy.

The course will be broken down into four sessions, each one taking you through the essentials of starting your own successful business.

Session 1 – The Why

1. Understanding your personal ‘why’ to start a business

2. Purpose vs profit motivations

3. Entrepreneurial skills and characteristics

4. Importance of self-management as an entrepreneur

Session 2 – The Process Element (Basic Components)

1. The lean start up methodology

2. Importance of experimentation, iteration and failure

3. Money matters

Session 3 – The Process Element (Advanced Components)

1. Business structures

2. Securing a competitive advantage

3. Growth and exit strategies

Session 4 – The Human Element
